I am a 40 year old scientist. I live with my partner and two kids. Interests include reading (non-fiction mainly) ,
photography, and not sleeping knowing that someone on the internet is wrong!!!
I grew up in Edinburgh, going to school close to where we lived. I have a degree from Aberdeen and a Ph.D. from Edinburgh,
as well as a City and Guilds in Photography from Braintree College! I've spent time in Dundee and Cambridge before decanting
to leafy Essex. Now I work from home and disappear off into Europe meeting brilliant scientists and feeling a bit thick.
Taking a break
The High Life
If someone tells you it always rains in Scotland, it just means they
don't want you going there. Proof that we get more than the odd photon.
Current Reading/Music/Films/Playstation Games
Here's a list of some of my current reading:
The World According To Garp - Set in Boston, a book
I felt I should have already read. Seems OK 2 pages in. 59 Seconds - A book from Richard Wiseman, fun psychology
spin on everyday stuff. There's a chapter summary that you can read in 59 seconds, hence the title. 100 Bullets
- Great graphic novel series, that reads like an epic. Great breadth. Hot Shots - Photography book, full of ideas
from an interesting chap in Brighton.
Here's a list of some of my current music/films etc:
Listening to - The Weakerthans, Marillion Watching - Lie To Me, The Mentalist
Went to See - Nothing recently caught my eye.
Might have to go and see what exhibition is on at the Little Black Gallery
